I think Moyes negative, Allardyce lite approach I a far bigger problem than Adrian. I expect him to again pick at least five defenders, two holding players and an isolated Arnie

Re: joe hart
Not a huge surprise.
Adrian lost his way last few games.

Re: joe hart
Obviously hope he plays well he has had his moments. I do agree with one of the posts below who said truthfully that a goalkeeper can't do much when they have a terrible defence in front of them, I mean you do not lose by 3 or 4 goals because of the goalkeeper unless he is ridiculously inept.

Come on Shampoo Joe, you can do it !!!!

Re: joe hart
I still think Hart is head and shoulders above most of the goalkeepers in the Premiership.
He will save us today mark my words because if he doesn't I don't know who else will.

It has been the way West ham have played for the last three seasons since Bilic took the reigns, the opposition nearly always get a good two or three cracks at goal and most games even more.

Re: joe hart
Panic move trying to cover up his own inadequacies. We ship goals because we can’t keep hold of the ball, we invite pressure, we pose little threat except on the break sometimes and our defensive organisation is poor.

None of the above is the keepers fault and none of it is going to be improved by bringing in someone who shouts at pigeons in the park and can’t dive to his left.

This thread is exactly a year old.

What a difference 12 months makes. Reading through the earlier threads, nearly everyone thought it would be a good signing. Only LeroysBoots comes out with any credit.

Looks like a desperate panic move

Signs of a desperate manager this. Hopefully signing his own release forms.

Re: joe hart
Complete desperation to return to hart. I'm guessing we'll lose by 4 tomorrow. He doesn't play well under pressure, and tomorrow is a hugely important game

Back between the sticks today.

Re: joe hart
Agree that both our keepers are ‘ok’ (with Hart not what he was) and not being helped by our slow old non-Reactive defence.
Who in turn get no protection from a slow threadbare midfield
While we have a small main striker whose game is based on taking chances forced by midfield possession high up the pitch.
Which we are incapable of creating

Apart from that we are in great shape

Re: joe hart
Neither Hart or Adrian are going to avoid being prone to gaffs, keepers, by their nature, do so. Each has his own weakness.

However, the defence in front of them HAS to do a job and stick to it. Yesterday, at 2-0 down they had 4 players in our box. We had 6 + Adrian. They didn't close anyone and didn't mark 3 of the 4. Does it surprise anyone that our keepers are shell shocked and unable to deliver?

It's a whole team thing. Swansea ran their legs off, challenged for every ball - even that lazy shite we sold them won a penalty by not giving up - yet we stood off, watched and shrugged as yet another goal went in.

It isn't just Hart or Adrian and things aren't going to get a whole hell of a lot better when we have to play bigger teams. After all, we've made Brighton and Swansea look like Real or Barca at their best. What's gonna happen in the games to come?

Well, it all depends if our squad have relegation clauses or release terms, I guess.

Re: joe hart
Managers are paid to make these decisions. I don’t think it would be cowardly to drop Adrian I actually think it would be sensible given the amount of goals he and the defence have conceded.

I’m not saying Hart is the long term answer either as it seems highly likely he won’t be here next year but these next nine games are as massive as I can remember for the future of this club.

The ramifications if we were to go down are disastrous. Whatever his failings this year Hart i has played at the very top level in high pressure games and we need some stellar performances from the experience players.

Adrian will be here next season but I think the time is right to bring Hart back in for the final games.

Re: joe hart
So. Hart it is then
Might be a game for either to miss. Short of centre halves and Chris Wood up next.
Who is basically Andy Carroll with some heart and courage

Re: joe hart
While I agree that Adrian should've done better over the last couple games (despite all the saves against Liverpool), for me dropping him now would be the coward's way out for Moyes. The defending recently has been as bad as it was under Bilic, if not worse. Injuries haven't helped, but Moyes' tactic of having as many defensive players as possible has been found out by any team with a bit of pace. He blamed the players yesterday without even considering a look at his tactics. Pinning it all on Adrian would be a good way for Moyes to act like it's not his own fault.

Sven Roeder 12:22 Sun Mar 4
Re: joe hart
You’d expect that Hart could well come back for Burnley given the way Moyes spoke about how shit we were.

Re: joe hart
As a Number one he isn’t worth a new contract. Good number two and whoever’s in charge next season a new Goalkeeper is a priority.
You can argue the toss about whether we should have bought Hart in but fuck me Adrian has done no better than Hart this season and he’s been playing when supposedly the team has been playing better.

He’s let in 4 against L’pool and Swansea in consecutive weeks. Add to the 3 against Brighton Newcastle and Bournemouth are you telling me Hart wouldn’t be getting pelted left right and centre?

Adrian constantly makes mistakes, I said it last season the mistakes he makes costs you points and his performances of late have been on a steady decline.

First goal yesterday he has to do better, as for the two corners we conceded from Swansea were clever as they would have watched his inability to come for the corner last week when Liverpool scored their first and targeted that weakness he has on crosses.

Should be dropped in my opinion next week.

Oh.

Well, I AM saying that, and I am in full agreement with myself on that point.

Private Dancer 9:43 Sun Mar 4
Re: joe hart
Ant - Fwiw, I'm not saying he should get a recall, just posing the question.

Another question is should we e handing Adrian a new contract as is reported?

Ronald_antly 9:32 Sun Mar 4
Re: joe hart
Agreed.

If Joe Hart had watched that first goal roll past him the way Adrian did, he would have been CANED by many on here.
